2006-12-24 Adnaco Technology announces First PCI Express over-fiber-optic bus extension

Adnaco Technology has announced today the successful testing of the Adnaco-Sirius™ PCI Express (PCIe) extension, which provides a remote PCI/PCIe platform at distances up to 250 meters and with data rates at 2.5 Gbps over a single fiber optic pair. Since release of the first PCIe specification in 2002, there have been several significant enhancements by the PCI Special Interest Group (PCI-SIG) which have contributed to the phenomenal success of PCI express in the last five years. The recent specification revision 0.9 provided for a PCIe cable extension of up to 9 meters. Adnaco Technology, with its breakthrough Adnaco-Sirius PCI Express over-fiber-optic extension up to 250 meters, has gone well beyond the PCI-SIG cable limit.
